Bongo Hospitality and The Bongo Foundation are excited to announce the revival of Chef V. Bongo’s “Feed the People” initiative. After a hiatus due to COVID, Chef Bongo is returning to The Okanagan region to volunteer his time and prepare his healthy, nutritious African Peanut Soup at Penticton’s Soupateria (https://www.soupateria.com/).
This event is made possible thanks to President Roderick Strike’s invitation.
Chef Bongo will be present on Thursday, October 26th, starting at 11:30 am, to serve his delicious, soulful soup to anyone in need. We invite you to join us in supporting this initiative and encourage you to bring anyone who may be hungry. Chef Bongo will be working alongside the Soupateria team, led by Carina Hakanson, their dedicated general manager who has been feeding the hungry for the past few years.
Chef Bongo’s African Peanut Soup is gluten-free and vegan-friendly, ensuring that even those with special dietary restrictions can enjoy it.
Bongo Hospitality, in collaboration with Bongo Foods and The Bongo Foundation, is launching prepackaged African Peanut Soup alongside these visits. This initiative aims to promote a healthy lifestyle, support local businesses, and address hunger-related issues. As The Bongo Foundation emphasizes, “no person should go hungry when the world is abundant.” To achieve this goal, we distribute educational content and provide logistical support to reach more people in need.
The Bongo Foundation will donate $1 per prepackaged bag sold (in the Okanagan) to the Soupateria alongside donating the ingredients required for this endeavor. Stay tuned for updates on Chef Bongo’s upcoming stops and cooking demonstrations at other Okanagan locations.
